INTRODUCTION

Hello there! My name is Nurfarzana Abdullah Bt Nazren Hezli, the photographer for RAWR.org. I am responsible for capturing moments of injustice acts happened upon animals. In this post, I will be introducing what is our organization is about, etc. Happy Reading, everyone!

1. ORGANIZATION

Our company, RAWR.org, is based in Malaysia, and we are responsible for spreading awareness and for developing content about animal abuse and cruelty which takes place worldwide. Our content focuses solely on animal abuse, animal cruelty and all the data that are transported on this website are taken from global references.

2. ANIMAL ABUSE :

To understand what is the meaning of the term “animal abuse”, animal abuse can be understood as a form of animal neglects whether it is a form of forbidding animals from being fed of healthy food supplies or caging their pet on staying outdoor in extreme weather conditions for no particular reason. Animal exploitations are considered as one of the subcategories in animal abuse. Besides that, animal testing is also considered as an animal cruelty case due to the usage of chemicals, and harmful substances were tested and injected on animals for laboratory purposes, mainly for the “name of the sciences”. Eventually, after being tested, these animals will usually be left to “living death” and develop itching, feeling burning senses, chronic pain, and in worse cases, developing loss of body parts which make them suffer for a lifetime. Lastly, after they are amputated and defective, these animals will be neglected to death as they bring no more functions to the objective of the research.

In other words, if one doing intentioned in making these animals feeling scared for their own survival and purposely putting these animals in a harmful situation, it is also considered as animal abuse. Animals that had experienced animal abuse beforehand, they tend to develop the fear, desperation and experience of ‘scars’ by becoming more aggressive to other beings.

These animals feel severe pain physically, and injuries after had been beaten. Many people didn’t know that these animals would also develop traumatizing psychological damage, feeling a lack of empathy and feeling less loved by their owner after being through abuse situations. Hence, it is essential to talk and to discuss animal abuse and cruelty acts. This is because animals are living beings that have the same rights as us humans do. If society blinds themselves from taking part in these inhumane activities, the animal kingdom would inevitably become extinct and be in a cycle of endless pain and suffering for a lifetime.

Without we realize it, the fact that animal abuse is often taken place in indoor space that we do not realize their own owner abused these animals. We often believe there is such cruel matter as animal abuse and cruelty, but with the lack of information, we often are blinded. Everyone can be an animal abuser, so what are the obvious characteristics that we can look upon for an animal abuser? The answer is there is no such manual for us to judge that someone is a perpetrator. They might be within your own close circle, someone who is close to you, your friends, your next-door neighbours etc. Sadly, there are cases that these cruel acts occurred in the household without being unnoticed.

So the main point here is that not only us, but YOU must also keep spreading the awareness of these cruel acts in our society to break the chain. Take action; do your part!




3. TYPES OF ANIMAL ABUSE

There are two types of animal abuse that are basics and that we must take heed of this;

§ Commercial: This type of animal abuse is to further one’s organization to raise and earn profit from the animals training to perform in front of people.

§ Personal: This type of animal abuse often takes place at home or unnoticed from the public eyes as it occurs between the companion of the animal and their owner. With that being said, this type of animal abuse solely tends to happen between a person and an animal in a household.

ANIMALS THAT MOST OFTEN BEING ABUSED:


1. DOGS

If the dog's owner has an attitude of hoarding animals, the pet dog will be highly kept in a confined space with insufficient food and water supply. However, the person thought himself as a compassionate human being for keeping and petting a bunch of dogs. One of the reasons why dogs are one of the most abused animals due their owners are using them as a weapon for their own illegal activities’ protection such as drugs trafficking, dog fighting etc.




2. CATS

Cats are sometimes targeted as victims of teenage pranks as cats often wander off to explore their surroundings. In the end, they have become the victims of severe pain due to “pranking”. Cats are often allowed to roam the neighbourhood. Therefore, they are aimed as easy targets for any evil intentions. Like dogs, cats sometimes end up staying with hoarders, who receives no intervention of welfare care, such as leaving them in dire state to fend themselves from any predator’s due financial situation.




3. HORSES

Although horses are more significant than cats and dogs, they are among the most abused animals. Equine abuse often stems from painful training methods that cause systematic harm.





OUR OBJECTIVES TOWARDS OUR GOAL:

✅ We realized that there is a lack of animal abuse awareness among society, so our goal is to keep spreading awareness, and the issue here is to encounter animal abuse and cruelty. ✅ We play our part to keep updating every single information about animal abuse and animal cruelty, whether it happens locally or internationally.


✅ We believe that companions animals deserve to live with a human without being abused by their own owner or being neglected purposely.

✅ We believe in our heart that we have the responsibility to alleviate animals suffering from being abused by irresponsible hands.


✅ We believe, and we keep in mind that we play a vital role in society to prevent animal abuse and animal cruelty.


✅ We believe if everyone realized about their own obligation to prevent animal abuse, we could create a world with decreasing cases of animal abuse and cruelty every day.


✅ We believe that animals experience sufferings from being abused by human and we are convinced that they have their dignity that they should not be treated in such a disrespectful way.
